Gordon Nelson
I’m honored to pursue my dream as a golf professional, serving the youth and community of Las Cruces alongside Henry and Kelly Stetina. As Operations Manager and a member of the coaching staff, I’m committed to making a meaningful impact through the game of golf.
Currently, I am enrolled in the PGA Associate Program and working toward becoming a certified PGA coach and instructor. Before stepping into the golf industry, I proudly served for over 21 years in the fire service—first with the NASA Fire Department and then as a Fire Lieutenant with the Las Cruces Fire Department. Throughout my career, I discovered a deep passion for instruction, training, and community outreach—experiences that now fuel my second career in coaching.
I have two children who have played competitive golf for the past four years, and through that journey, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of mentorship and the game itself. Under Henry’s guidance as their coach, my children have grown not only as athletes but also as individuals. This personal experience has further deepened my commitment to our mission and to the values we share as a coaching team.
To me, golf is the game of life—one that teaches accountability, perseverance, and resilience. I believe it’s my purpose to use this game not only to teach skills but also to inspire others on their journeys. My goal is to empower youth, strengthen our community, and build lasting relationships through the shared love of golf.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to give back through the game that has given so much to me and my family.
